Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences In Humanities
Currently I am an Assistant Professor (Chemistry) at the Department of Humanities, BSMR Aviation and Aerospace University, Dhaka. In September 2016, I have received my Ph.D. in chemistry from Tokyo Metropolitan University, and I also completed a one-year post-doctoral fellowship at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. Under a JSPS fellowship, I also worked as a Research Assistant at Tokyo Metropolitan University. My M.S. and B.Sc. degrees in chemistry were earned at Jahangirnagar University in Savar, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
My Research area are mainly focused on molecular design, synthesis and photophysical property analysis of poly aromatic chiral and achiral compounds. In my PhD program I have designed and synthesized a series of pyrene based axial chiral compounds and separated the enantiomers and published the work in an international journal which was selected as an Editor’s Choice. During my Post-Doctoral work at Chulalongkorn University, I have synthesized a chemo-sensor which can selectively detect Cu(II) ions in a very low concentration and also published the work in an American Journal. Besides, I have also prepared a series of transition metal complex with chiral and achiral ligand to check their catalytic and phosphorescence properties. Moreover, I have designed, synthesized and characterized a series of organometallic compounds.
