Shahana Afrin Dina is working as a Lecturer (Economics) at the Department of Science & Humanities, at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation, and Aerospace University, Old Airport, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Besides, She is also playing the role of Assistant Provost of Female Hall -1, BSMRAAU.
Before, She was a Guest Lecturer at the Department of Economics at Barishal Govt. Women’s College, Barishal. Moreover, in 2019, She worked as a Research Assistant at Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS), Agargaon, Dhaka.
Besides, She is one of the Co-founders and Chief of the Skill Development & Counselling Cell of Steps Ahead (A Govt. registered Voluntary Organization) (Website: www.stepsaheadbd.org). which was established in 2018. In December 2021, She received the “JOY BANGLA YOUTH AWARD 2021” on behalf of Steps Ahead in the “Climate & Innovation” category. In 2018, Steps Ahead was awarded by “German Cooperation” in the “Empowering Women for Leadership” category for the organization’s outstanding community services. In 2022, Steps Ahead received the “Inspiring Women Volunteer Award 2022” organized by UNV Bangladesh, UN Women Bangladesh, VSO Bangladesh, Plan International Bangladesh, and ActionAid Bangladesh. She also received “TORI Leadership Award 2018” given by TORI (A voluntary organization that works for street children to provide educational support) Alumni Committee for the best volunteer and leader in the 10th Anniversary Program of TORI School of Jahangirnagar University. Shahana Afrin Dina attended and completed the “Leadership and Gender Equality Course” provided by the British Council and Clore Social Leadership, UK as part of the Platinum Jubilee Women in Leadership Project 2022.
