Group Captain Dr G.M. Jahangir Alam, psc, Ph.D was commissioned in Engineering Branch (M Stream) of Bangladesh Air Force on 14 July 1993 (with ante-date seniority). He attended a number of courses at home and abroad like Aerospace Technology Course, Aeronautical Engineering Course (Mechanical), Flighty Safety Officers’ Course, Junior Command & Staff Course, Air Staff Course, AutoCAD Course, Composite Material Course, Advanced Professional Knowledge Course (Aeronautical Engineering), Conventional Munitions Maintenance Officer Course, Jet Engine Mishap Investigation Course etc from home and abroad. He graduated as Mechanical Engineer from BUET in the year 1995. He also graduated from DSCSC, Mirpur in 2005. He completed M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from BUET in the year 2007 and carried out research on “Aerodynamic Characteristics of Biplane”. He also completed Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from BUET in the year 2013 and carried out research on “Investigation of the Effect of NACA 4416 Aerofoil Shaped Fuselage on the Performance of an Unmanned Air Vehicle”. He is supervising a no of thesis of uder-graduate and post-graduate students of BUET and MIST in the field of Heat Transfer and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). He has many publications in national and international journals & conferences. He served twice for UN Mission at MONUC, Congo and MINUSCA, CAR respectively.
