VC BSMRAAU, Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Nazrul Islam, BSP, nswc, afwc, psc paid a visit to the office of the Chairman, BSCL Dr. Shahjahan Mahmud on 9th August, 2021. The VC was accompanied by the University Registrar, Additional Registrar and Head of CSE Department. During the visit, they discussed the ways and means to unlock the potential areas of cooperation between the two institutions in the field of satellite and space technology
The VC adduced the Chairman about the academic and research activities of the University - in particular the post-grad level programs on space and satellite technology starting from next academic year. He also sought for BSCL's support in relevant areas to enhance BSMRAAU's capacity to provide world class education and conduct research and development activities on satellite technology.
Chairman BSCL acceded to establish two VSAT terminals at the University's Dhaka and Lalmonirhat campus. He was also positive about providing a dedicated transponder to BSMRAAU from Banganandhu Satellite-1, to be used for educational activities. These facilities, when established, will enhance BSMRAAU's capacity of conducting world class research and expand its ability to provide quality education, benefitting the students and research collaboration in advanced space and satellite related research projects.
Identifying the common areas of interests, the key leadership of the two organization also agreed to find out the potential sources of fund to finance research projects, conduct training sessions for BSCL employees on satellite technology at the University and work on offering early placement opportunities for the BSMRAAU graduates at the BSCL. Mentionable that preparation to sign an MoU between BSMRAAU and BSCL is in progress.
